How much should I take?

For overall good health, take 2 capsules orally twice a day on an empty stomach.

For maximum immune support, mix a scoop of powder in water or juice twice a day and take on an empty stomach or as directed by health professional.

 

What does it mean to take on an empty stomach and why?

Recent studies indicate that IP6 binds to certain proteins and fibers when taken with food consumption therefore resulting in some being digested before it is able to be completely absorbed into the cells.  It is recommended taking IP6 Gold at least one hour before a meal or at least two hours after a meal.

 

Is it safe to take with medicines?

There are no known contra-indications or drug interactions.  It is recommended taking your medications at a different time of day than IP6 Gold. Be sure to consult your physician or pharmacist if you have a question.

 

What is the source of calcium/magnesium on the nutrition label?

When our IP6 is extracted from rice bran, it is bound to calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium in a compound called calcium magnesium phytate.  We do not add the minerals. They are naturally occurring and sourced from the rice bran.

 

Are there any side effects or adverse reactions?

Human trials and clinical testing have been administered in very large dosage amounts and no side effects, adverse reactions or consequences were evident, as well as no toxicity level detected in the blood or tissues. It is therefore considered a very safe supplement even in excessive dosage amounts.

As with any other supplement, if you want to take larger amounts, it is recommended to gradually increase the amount everyday so your body can adapt to it.

 

Can I give this to my pet?

Yes, customers have safely given it to their pets. The amount to give is based on the animal’s weight since the human recommendation is based on an average 150 lb adult. EXAMPLE: If your 15 lb pet needs maximum immune support, the calculated amount would be 1.6 capsules a day. One capsule twice a day would be adequate. We don't recommend the flavored powder for animals.

           

Where is this made?

Our products are made in the USA at an NSF GMP Certified facility. They are also certified organic by Quality Certification Services.

 

Where does IP6 come from?

Both our IP6 (inositol hexaphosphate) and Inositol come from non-GMO rice bran. When IP6 is extracted from rice, it is part of a compound called Calcium Magnesium Phytate. The raw material is subject to several independent tests and analysis ensuring the purest form of IP6 available.

 

Does IP6 Gold contain Myo-Inositol? 

Yes, IP6 Gold contains both myo-Inositol Hexaphosphate and myo-Inositol extracted from non-GMO rice bran. 

 

Should I stop taking before I have surgery?

IP6 does not exactly “thin blood,” but it inhibits platelet aggregation (“stickiness”) so that less clotting occurs in the blood vessels.  In the event of surgery, you should be careful to avoid anything that could cause excess bleeding.  As a precaution, stop taking IP6 Gold about 5 days before surgery.

 

Can you take too much?

Both IP6 and inositol have received GRAS Status, "Generally Recognized As Safe," from the FDA.  Since IP6 and Inositol are found in common foods such as rice, corn, sesame, soy, etc., these nutrients are widely found in our everyday diet.  This is why IP6 Gold is classified as a "food" or "dietary supplement."  Acute and chronic toxicity studies have shown no toxicity for up to 10,000 mg/kg body weight.

Why can’t I just take IP6 by itself? What does the inositol do?

Research shows that by taking the IP6 and Inositol together in a proper ratio, the two ingredients play a beneficial role in your immune system better than the individual ingredients alone. It is also theorized that the two compounds produce additional IP3 molecules that play a very important role in the cells by helping them grow, mature, replicate and communicate with other cells. Cells that are chronically low in IP6 and Inositol are unhealthy, become out of control, dividing uncontrollably, damaging surrounding cells and more. 

 

Does IP6 chelate minerals?

IP6 Gold uses calcium magnesium phytate as its source for IP6. Phytate contains varying amounts of Phytic Acid that is bound to calcium and magnesium and therefore does not bind to or chelate minerals in the gut. However, once phytate is metabolized, the phytic acid is now released to bind or chelate excess metals such as free or unbound iron, calcium and others.

 

Unfortunately, there is a lot of misunderstanding about this topic available on the internet. Including those that still want to label IP6 as an "anti-nutrient" that should be avoided. The basis for this comes from old, outdated studies on groups of isolated people whose main food source is from corn (maize). This simply doesn’t apply to the majority of the world’s population.

The confusion over phytate and phytic acid is very common. If this "anti-nutrient" label was in fact true, the FDA would not have granted GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) status to IP6 as a dietary supplement. 

 

The dietary supplement combination IP6 & Inositol utilizing calcium magnesium phytate as its raw material source has been consumed worldwide since 1998. This superior combination has only grown in popularity over the last 25 years as more and more consumers experience the multi-functional benefits.

 

We have not seen any reports from the FDA or appropriate medical authorities related to IP6 causing any mineral deficiencies.
